Every Day Is Earth Day

We celebrate it every day, but the original purpose of "Earth Day" - April 22, 1970 - was to raise awareness of environmental issues. "A Celebration of Birds" is part of Earth Day celebrations on Saturday, April 21 at the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center, Mystic.

Guided bird walk, birds of prey demonstration, and a binocular “try-it” station.

Also, Saturday is opening day for trout fishing in Connecticut.

 Approximately 400,000 trout have already been released by the staff at Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Scheduled to be restocked on Saturday are Rock Pond, Chatfield Hollow State Park, Southford Falls, Stratton Brook, and Wolfe Park.

Children ages 15 and younger do not require a fishing license; all others do.
