The house at 57 Pleasant Street seen inset to the left above is soon to be demolished. Once upon a time the house could be seen from the windows of the former location of Washington Middle School/the old Meriden High School building. The interesting larger and more grand home that was located at the front of 57 Pleasant Street is gone, replaced by a brick apartment building. If memory serves, there once were a row of garage-barn structures to the back.
A side view of the house shows the near-level brick foundation; a picture window (not seen) overlooks the valley and must have given spectacular views of the Hanging Hills of Meriden and Castle Craig.
