Stonewall Apiary is partnering with the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center (DPNC) in Mystic, for a series of beginner beekeeper classes.
Taught by beekeeper Stuart Woronecki, these classes will cover what it takes to be successful keeping your own bees. Dates are Feb. 27, March 5, March 12, March 19, 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Cost is $75; $60 for DPNC members. Space is limited.

Walk Full Storm Moon

Full storm moon walk on Tuesday, Feb. 7, steps off at 5 p.m. at Manatuck Preserve, a conservation area located south of the Pine Point School on Barnes Road in Stonington, Conn.
Walks take place even on overcast nights, and are suitable for adults and older children.

DPNC Annual Wild Mushroom Festival
The 10th annual Wild Mushroom Festival is Sunday, Sept. 25, 2 to 5 p.m. at DPNC, Mystic.
Feast your senses on fresh, delicious mushroom dishes prepared by chefs from the area's finest restaurants.
Live music, sip locally produced beer, wine and juice. Members of the CT Valley Mycological Society will lead mushroom identification walks. Or just check out mushroom anatomy with a microscope.
Admission? Just $15 for all. The Denison Farmers Market is also open, noon to 3 p.m., right across the street.
There are trails galore (free) throughout the property and this is a scenic and wonderful preserve.

Equinox at Gungywamp
The Gungywamp is characterized by relics of the Ice Age, including dramatic rock outcrops and north-south cliff walls.
