Rockville Bank First In Connecticut, All Green


Rockville Bank’s newest branch at 780 North Main St. in Manchester, Conn is the first bank branch in Connecticut with its entire property utilizing “green” technology and engineering (inside and outdoors).

“Our environmentally friendly new Rockville Bank branch has ‘green’ workspaces and facilities, and ‘green’ landscaping and outdoor amenities,” according to William McGurk, CEO and president, Rockville Bank.

The building has been registered with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and an application submitted for Green LEED certification (new construction and major renovation).

At the recent grand opening, McGurk presented $1,000 each to: the Manchester Fire Department; the Manchester Police Department; the Manchester Senior Center; and the Manchester Public Library.

A Manchester Community Day Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, May 30. The event will include refreshments, gifts and prizes. The public is invited.
