Middlebury Winter Carnival & Chili Contest

The Middlebury Winter Carnival & Chili Contest is March 5,  in Vermont.

Last year, 43 vendors served 76 different kinds of chili, and this year the number is expected to grow.

Amateurs and professionals are encouraged to enter, the public votes for the best by tasting it all.

Chili, live music, dog sled demonstrations, and more.

Main Street, 2  to 4 p.m. Free.

International Waterfront Festival

Burlington will host an 11-day extravaganza to celebrate Lake Champlain Days, July 2 through July 14.

Live music, comedy, film, theater, new technology, lake ecology, and special events, plus lake walks and waterfront activities will take place in Vermont, with a special feature huge parade and day-long celebration on Saturday, July 11.

Celebrate Champlain Burlington International Waterfront Festival is part of the year-long celebration of the 400th anniversary of French explorer and cartographer Samuel de Champlain’s travels by sail, oar and paddle to the lake that now bears his name.
