What Future for Agriculture in Connecticut?

The Litchfield Garden Club will present a panel discussion on "Supporting the Future of Agriculture in Litchfield: Farming and the Community", on Wednesday, April 15 at 7 p.m. at the Litchfield Community Center, Route. 202, Litchfield.

The meeting is open to the public.

Panel participants include: State Senator Andrew Roraback; William Burgess, president and executive director of Litchfield Hills Food Systems; Henry Talmage, executive director CT Farmland Trust; and Bill Deusing, Northeast Organic Farming Association-CT Office.

The Litchfield Garden Club is a member of Garden Club of America and Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut.

Develop As Golf Course? Hearing, May 12

The weather warms and golfers are shaking off winter hibernation to return to the greens.

News about the proposed development of the Yale Farm Golf Club?

Still in the permitting process, involving both Norfolk and Canaan, in Connecticut's Litchfield County.

In January, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) made tentative approval for two water impact permits for the project.

The DEP has set a public hearing for May 12 in Canaan.

The northwest region of Connecticut abuts New York state and is known for its trout fishing and as home of choice for celebrities and business notables.
