Knitters will be outside with yarn and needles at the Yarn Garden.Saturday, June 13, is Knit in Public Day around the world. Closet knitters of all skill levels are encourage to come on out to celebrate World Wide Knit in Public Day (WWKiP).
In 2005 American Danielle Landes organized the first-ever World Wide Knit in Public Day to help bring the knitting. Today, through online groups such as Ravelry and knitting blogs, from New Zealand to Alaska, the buzz has blossomed.
Denise Edson, owner of the friendly Meriden shop at 194 Elm St., invites those interested to bring along a chair, blanket, beverages to knit from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
