The scarecrows are back - and this year a special theme category this year will celebrate the 375th of the historic town of Wethersfield.

Wethersfield, settled in 1635, hosts its 13th annual Scarecrows Along Main Street event to delight all - and the walk around to view all the creative "beings" is wonderful for families.
Displays are up through Sunday, Oct. 25.
The event is free.

At the Bates-Scofield House in Darien, Saturday, Oct. 3 is the Fall Festival Fair. Colonial crafts and demonstrations plus a scarecrow workshop.
Horse-drawn wagon rides are featured at Fall Festival Tyme on both Saturday and Sunday at the Blue Slope Country Museum in Franklin.
The 15th annual Cornucopia Fest is Sunday, Oct. 4, at the University of Connecticut green (across from Route 195 and North Eagleville Road), 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guided tours of the UConn Creamery, guided hike in the UConn Forest, hayride, antique farm equipment and horse carriages. The 11th annual Pumpkins & Pooches Autumn Fair and Dog Show is on Sunday, Oct. 4, (rain date Oct. 11) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Colchester Town Green. More than 90 crafters and vendors. For more about it, see www.colchesterlions.org/pnp.htm.
