Patriots Park Forest Trail Dedication & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Town of Coventry, Patriots Park Forest Trail, 9:00 a.m.

Composting 2009 – Hartford Gold, Niles Street Community Garden between Sigourney/Laurel Streets, Hartford, noon to 1 p.m. Press conference with Mayor Eddie Perez announcing the availability of free compost to city residents. Green Basics for Small Businesses, Spanish American Association, 95 Park St. , Hartford, 6 to 8 p.m. Presentations on environmental topics affecting small businesses including proper disposal of fats, oils and grease; fluorescent lights and buying recycled paper. Legacy of Col. Wadsworth Is Beauty

He was a man ahead of his time. Clarence C. Wadsworth was a colonel in the New York National Guard who loved languages. He settled in Middletown, Connecticut, and the land and its natural features became his love for life - he is the reason for Wadsworth Falls State Falls.

Wadsworth made sure his will would be followed - he established what is known today as The Rockfall Foundation (named for the waterfalls located in today's parklands - one massive waterfalls, another smaller set.)
